About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
  • Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries
  • Generate financial reports as needed
  • Support audits by providing documentation and data
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting principles
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Sage)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in payroll processing
  • Experience in a high-volume or multi-entity environment
  • Familiarity with reconciliations and journal entry preparation
